Looking for MMORPG with Great Graphics, Economy, etc.?

Interested in recommendations. I'm looking for a MMORPG that has outstanding graphics, a great player-driven economy (that includes crafting, trading, engineering, etc.), diplomacy, and politics. I don't want a game that revolves exclusively or almost exclusively around combat. I like a richer, more varied experience.

I've played Star Wars Galaxies, and liked it before the overhaul several years ago. I've also recently signed up for Eve Online, which has potential. Haven't yet tried World of Warcraft. I realize gameplay is what's most important, but the graphics seem too cartoony for me. I like good, oustanding graphics. But, having said that, I've heard the economy in WoW is really good, so I may give it a try at some point.

If you haven't tried LOTRO (Lord of the Rings Online) yet, you need to give it a go. It has some amazing graphics that will challenge most PCs. It also has some great players that are mostly adults, so you won't get into the twinky BS that goes on in most games.

Oh, and did I mention now it's free to play...

In regards to player driven economy that includes crafting trading engineering, EvE wins hands down. As for diplomacy and politics, again EvE wins hands down. A game that doesn't exclusively revolve around combat? Again, EvE wins.

Outstanding graphics? Well I'd like to think EvE wins, but it's a matter of opinion. Some say WoW has better graphics and I can understand why they'd think so. WoW is very colorful but old graphics. EvE has awesome graphics yet the color scheme is very drab.

WoWs economy is in the shitter. Few gamers will deny it. Inflation has taken it's toll on that game and beat it down to a pulp.

However, EvE is not for everyone. Many find EvEs society harsh and unforgiving. It can be fun with the right people as friends, but all in all it's a cutthroat game where murder theft and scams are all allowed. GM interference is rare as players have all the tools needed to exact revenge on others.

There are a few different MMOs out there that meet your requirements. It's hard to say specifically which one is the best for you. I would recommend taking a quick look at some summaries and category reviews online. You can find a good set of top 10 lists here:

    http://www.whatmmorpg.com/

Hope this helps and you find what you're looking for!

There's another game recently released that's not on those lists yet called Perpetuum Online. It's very similar to Eve but ground based and because it's early the economy isn't as well developed.

It's hard to recommend a specific MMO game 2 play, because everyone likes something different. A game I love you may not. Check out http://mmohut.com/ for a huge list of these free mmorpg / mmo games. I personally use that site to find new games to play. Every few days I try a new game :) - It's a lot of fun because I try everything. They have like every single MMORPG categorized nicely with reviews, screenshots, videos and more. Heck they even list the game's system requirements!. Best part is all the games are free, which rocks.

    http://mmohut.com/browser-games

They have a big section for "no download" browser MMORPGs too! All with screenshots and reviews!

Let me know if this was helpful! <3

Ok, sorry to the rest of you, but I don't think you really hit what he was going for. Check out Vindictus by Nexon. I know Nexon does a bunch of cartoony crap but they teamed up with Valve(best company ever BTW) and made this. Amazing graphics has the player driven economy but your able to play the game by yourself. Also since your looking for a game not so focused on combat look at Mabinogi by Nexon. They made the game not so much about combat but a social experience. You are able to learn how to play insturments, write your own songs, dance, throw parties, and hang with friends. You can also go work on a farm and shear sheep and all that good stuff. On the sideline, you can clear some dungeons and slay some bosses. The graphics are a little cartoonish but its still a good game. Hope I helped.

If you've never played WoW, be warned: you will not leave your computer for months when you start. It's been out for 6 years since it first came out, but the newest expansion completely revitalized the whole world and it looks brand new. My friend says he doesn't like it because the styling of the world and characters seem too "cartoony", but that's just the styling of Blizzard and it works well with the dynamic WoW throws at you (plus, with the vivid world and immense amount of data, "cartoony" means it will run better on your computer) they make up for this styling with beautiful environments and amazing full orchestral soundtracks, none of that half-*** stuff that other MMO's rip off (like SW Galaxies with John Williams music, or LotR online with it's LotR soundtrack, it's all made from scratch and makes the world come even more alive). Lets just say that even though it may look cheap, they do not under any circumstances decrease their attention to detail. You'll be amazed at how many little details are added to the game to really bring it to life. You never feel like you're playing a static video game, its all completely dynamic.

As for combat, you couldn't ask for a more immersible combat system with 12 races, 10 classes, and 3 subclasses per class. If you like PVP, you can choose a PVP server, if you like to quest you can choose a normal server. Or if you ar into immersing yourself into the lore, you can choose an RPG server.

As for economy, it depends on the server (there are dozens upon dozens) the one I am on is more for avid players with stacks of money (meaning that in the in-game auction house, 20 bronze bars sell for 10 gold (you can sell them to vendors for like 300x less than that)).

As for crafting, you can choose between a dozen or so professions (choose up to 2 on each toon) which includes tailoring (cloth armor, bags, and even a flying carpet mount :P), herbalism (potions), inscription (used for glyphs, which teach a toon how to advance a certain expertise), enchanting (increases stats), mining, skinning, leather-working (leather armor, and profession specific bags), blacksmithing (weapons and mail/plate armor), engineering (misc unconventional devices used to aid in combat, and also creates specialized armor and mounts) and a couple others.

As for diplomacy, there are hundreds of sub factions you can increase your reputation with (and in doing so you open up better dungeons and gear). Plus the main thing that drives PVP, you can choose to be with the Alliance or Horde. Neither is "good or bad", but they do have different goals.

Lastly, there's a huge achievement system that tracks ALL of your statistics. It will award you achievement points for completing certain tasks, and if you earn achievements in a guild then you earn amazing rewards (like an increased experience gaining rate, or exclusive mounts)

Basically if you want a rich game, then WoW is for you. Once you get passed the "cartoony" feel, you will see just how worth it it is. Plus, 16 (sixteen) years in the making, it has epic backstories and lore which surprising all fits in the game. They don't put it in the game unless it fits the lore.

    .

Source(s): If you check it out look me up on the server Ursin. All my toons are with the Alliance. You wont be able to contact me on a trial account so if you choose to buy it, add the following as friends: Jakuda, Drjakyll, Grìzzle (numpad code alt+141 for the "i"). or Fabìo (alt code 141 for the "i") Get the WoW/Burning crusade combo pack. It's $30 and comes with a month free. Sadly, Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm are $40 each, but you wont need WotLK until you're lvl 55, and you won't need cataclysm until you're lvl 80 (unless you want to play as a worgen (warewolf) or a goblin). Don't worry about the seemingly long time it will take you to get to lvl 85, they really quickened the leveling process, so now you can get to lvl 40 in 20 hours (as opposed to 48).

Kingdom hero's is the best game for you.

This game is set in the Chinese Era, liu bei, han dynasty.

there is * citys* which is a castle made, with mounted siege weapons on top to get rid of the enemy invaders.

these castles are owned by the Guild, and the Guild have to use team work to defend thier city.

There is a lot of strategy to hold your city or take other citys, planned by your guild leader etc.

I love the Afk grind feature, where you have soldiers to level you up.

Lots of skills to choose from, ( some you have to find)

Don't worry, Guilds are easily to join, at lvl 1 you can join a guild. All guilds are looking for any level and is very very friendly.

http://kingdomheroes.aeriagames.com/ sorry for the no link.. don't know why its working.
