  • Looking for MMORPG with Great Graphics, Economy, etc.?

Interested in recommendations. I'm looking for a MMORPG that has outstanding graphics, a great player-driven economy (that includes crafting, trading, engineering, etc.), diplomacy, and politics. I don't want a game that revolves exclusively or almost exclusively around combat. I like a richer, more varied experience.

I've played Star Wars Galaxies, and liked it before the overhaul several years ago. I've also recently signed up for Eve Online, which has potential. Haven't yet tried World of Warcraft. I realize gameplay is what's most important, but the graphics seem too cartoony for me. I like good, oustanding graphics. But, having said that, I've heard the economy in WoW is really good, so I may give it a try at some point.

  • My Answers Reported as Violations....Why!?

Several of my answers tonight were flagged and reported as "violations" with no explanation as to why.

I've looked very carefully over the Yahoo! Community Guidelines, and I did nothing to violate any of them.

The only common thing between the answers, which were flagged, was that I provided url links to articles within the body of my answers. Note that these links were to ARTICLES (not anything sales-related, affiliate-related or ANYTHING like that!). They were articles - and the articles were germane to what the people were asking help for!

So, what's the deal? Am I only allowed to put url links in the source box?

  • Question from a Pastor: What information would be helpful for a church to provide the community?

Our church is looking to make information available to our local community on a variety of subjects (marriage, raising kids, money management, self-esteem, evidence for the Christian faith, Jesus Christ, Christian doctrine, etc.) in a variety of different formats (CDs, booklets, etc.).

Please no "flaming" here, okay? This is a sincere question.

What type of information would you like to see provided to a community by churches? We have a real heart to reach out and help people with everyday, practical issues and questions - and sometimes churches don't do a very good job addressing those situations in a helpful, positive, and constructive manner.

To those Christians reading this, trust me when I say that I'm aware of my main priority, which is to share the love and Gospel message of Jesus Christ. And, believe me, we do this. So, save the anti-Joel Osteen comments, okay?

Thanks in advance to all who take time to answer this.

  • Need advice on camcorder options to record speeches and seminars?

I am in the market for a camcorder (right now, I'm looking at the Canon MiniDV ZR800) for recording speeches and seminars. It must have an external microphone jack. My question is a 3-parter: What budget-conscious recommendations do you have? Is the Canon ZR800 a good buy? And will any external mic work with pretty much any camcorder that has the jack? Thanks.

  • What's the best (and cheapest) way to build an author's platform?

My goal is to develop an author's platform wide enough to interest a book publisher in the coming year. Right now, I'm a local, small-town pastor and a frequent online writer. I have two major websites...

    http://protestantism.suite101.com/

    http://americanfounding.blogspot.com/

How do I increase visits/hits to my sites? And how can I expand my name recognition on subjects of Christianity, history, etc.?

    Thanks.

p.s. I've read a lot of advice on this from folks like Bob Bly, Dottie Walters, etc., but most of it is geared toward BUSINESS professionals. I'm more a liberal arts guy - someone who plays in the religion and politics sandboxes. There's not a lot of advice out there for aspiring authors in those areas.
