What was Lennon's influence on punk music or punk's influence on him? I know he colored outside of the lines a little in the 70's but I have never heard of a connection.

He and his ilk were who we were rebelling against to begin with. Only poseurs, hippies, and old people liked the Beatles in the 70's.
