If dinosaurs never existed and the world is 6,000 years old...?

If the world is approx. 6,000 years old and either god or the devil put dinosaur bones on earth to test our faith, then can anyone explain the humble fern? This little plant has been on planet earth for THREE TIMES longer than the oldest dated dinosaur fossil. And it still exists. It is still one of the most abundant plants on earth as it has adapted to live in so many environments over MILLIONS of years.

So, if dinosaur fossils are not real proof that the earth is more than 6,000 years old just because they are no longer alive, then how about the humble fern since it's still here? Or is this evidence to the contrary inadmissible and for what reason?

Because the "buy-bull" is a load of **** and Christians think the world is 6000 years old when it's 4.6 billion years old.

Then there's the common horsetail. This plant is even older than ferns. It grows as one huge underground root system that can send up shoots over a couple of square miles - and it is virtually impossible to kill. But then if its millions of years old, and horses are far more recent, how did evolution know what shape to make it?

The 6,000 (actually it's now 6,014) theory was developed by a 17th century Anglican Archbishop called James Ussher. It's odd that the American sect that still believes this rejects everything else that Archbishops have ever had to say. What's more interesting is that Ussher's theory was still received wisdom when Darwin wrote "Origin of the Species" and he presumably thought that evolution had taken place within Ussher's timeframe.

Not true. Dinosaur bones are real and man is approx 6,000 years old, not the earth.

Each creation day was much longer than 24hours and the earth was already there before the days of creation that made the earth habitable for humans/animals- read Genesis to confirm this

The problem lies with people trying to fit their preconceived ideas with scripture. Their ideas are wrong but they claim the Bible says it - actually the Bible doesn't say the earth was created in 24 hr days but will they consider this? No, because it doesn't fit with their traditional ideas

You are WRONG. Human beings have existed on this planet for 6,000 years. The Earth is millions of years old. No one can determine the exact date.

I believe the dinosaurs originated from another planet. Maybe a large comet smashed into the Earth's surface with dinosaur's' DNA and they started to grow and had developed into full size creatures until they could no longer adapt to the conditions here.

I am sorry but if a person is silly enough to believe that the earth is 6000 years old and dinosaur bones are put there by the devil I don't suppose one minute the presence of ferns is going to make the slightest difference to that belief

Earth was created in 144 hours, but the universe was made in indefinite time and I believe science's calculation of the universe's age is accurate.

The age of the earth isn't stated in the Bible.

    Dinosaurs did exist.

I don't know if you already know this, but not all Christians believe the world is 6k years old.

I BELIEVE that there are only CERTAIN sects or denominations that believe that. Most Christian denominations today say that you can't take the Bible literally.

But yes, love the fern example.

To take the bible at face value is wrong. The bible is full of errors. The Quran on the other hands makes no such errors and can be trusted. A time on Earth is not the same as time on the univese. 6000 years could mean universal time not earth time.

It's not just 'satan' who is busy planting fossils, its all us atheists on vacation and weekends. If we don't have soccer matches for our kids, we're out in the field planting fern fossils.
