Help me with a book gift for my sister?

2 wonderful writers that are in the crime/suspense genre like Gerritsen are Tana French and Sophie Hannah.

I would suggest:

"Wrong Mother" and "Dead Lie Down" by Hannah

"In the Woods" and "The Likeness" by French

In both instances if you only give 1 of the books choose the first option as there are reoccurring characters. Both authors particularly French are good writers, the honest development of the characters (as opposed to the dull one dimensional writing of say Meyer) I have no doubt will engage your sister immensely.

Also, a nice thriller/historical/vampire story is "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova
