This is how I do it - when I'm making them for me at home:

First, wash the BS. Slice off the woody stem a tiny bit. Remove the outer leaves which can be tough.

I like to cook mine in microwave - so I steam them over a tiny bit of water about three to five minutes. When they are done, they are bright green.

Have a hot fry pan ready. Heat up the pan to medium high, pour in some olive oil and when it starts to shimmer, toss in the hot BS. On medium-to-high heat, toss them around until they get a tiny brown on them and serve. I like them with butter and balsamic vinegar, but that's just me.

These don't take much time at all - so make them as you're near ready to eat.

    Good luck

mine are so freakin good and easy....1 pack of fresh brussell sprouts, some bacon or pancetta, a container of chicken stock....thats it!!!!

cut the bacon into bite size pieces, sautee until brown and crispy, pull the bacon from the pan and cut the stem ends off the sprouts, and pull a few outer leaves off, then cut in half...pour them into the pan with the bacon grease and sautee until slightly browned takes abt 6 to 7 min...then pour the chicken stock into the pan just to cover the sprouts...but not too much that they wont soak them up, let them simmer about 15 min and put the bacon pieces back in..3 ingredients and 30 min and u have some great sprouts
