NRRH: Misdemeanor drug charges.?

I am 13 years old. Today I was caught with my friends, smoking pot. The cop is charging me with Possession of Marijuana and Trespassing, both misdemeanor charges. What's going to happen to me? Will I be suspended? Have to go to court? Classes? Be able to get a job until I'm 18?

I used to come on here a lot about 6 months ago, so i decided that i'll try it.

I'm very sorry to hear that happened to you and I hope you can get everything sorted out.

Don't let this stop you from reaching your goals and dreams. If you didn't have them before then focus on them now. I'll tell you that at 13-years old you shouldn't be smoking weed or getting arrested for it. Smoking is terrible and unless you still work out regularly then you'll be doing a lot of damage to your lungs and heart. Give the weed smoking a rest right now because you really don't need that. You don't want to make it a regular stop at jail either. So make your time worth it in school right now, use this as something good that puts you on the right track..look at the good of it, it happened now at your young age. You can do good, get into college, and then decide if you want to smoke marijuana. You won't be missing much and you'll enjoy it more. By the time of your 18th birthday (high school graduation) your juvenile record will be sealed and locked away and there will be absolutely no record of it.

When they ask you on a job application if you ever have been arrested you will say NO and that is what you're supposed to do. You'll have no problem getting any job, your juvenile record will be locked away forever and you'll have a clean record at 18. You probably have to go to court but it won't take long and it will help to have supportive parents or older family members with you.

Get a lawyer if you want but this will not do anything to you. I hope you learned from this and never have to experience that again. Good luck

Well......what a young age to be smoking pot, but I'll get to that later out of respect for your time, sir.

    First off:

Misdemeanors aren't that big of a deal. Where I'm from (not saying) they allow first-time offenders to take a course that will eventually expunge (or erase) the charges from your record, as opposed to getting convicted.

So to answer your questions in order:

    1) You will either go to a few classes to expunge your record or you will have a misdemeanor on your juve record until you are 18.

    2) You will probably be suspended, possibly expelled.

    3) You will have to appear in court.

    4) Classes, already a yes.

    5) Yes, you will be able to get jobs, but...it will be hard. Lucky for you you're only 13. Now, please read the following. I know you probably don't care to, but it's important you should know this:

You're 13. Your brain has not fully grown to its potential and neither has your body. By smoking pot you are basically stopping your real-life avatar from becoming what it could be. I'm in my mid-twenties and stand no more than 5'11, could've probably been 6 feet tall or more if I didn't smoke. Also, my motor skills are pretty bad, aside from typing. My speech is pretty decayed. My train of thought it terrible. It's not because I smoke, it's because I smoked at a young age like you.

Promise I'm not trying to give you a scare tactic.

    Good day, sir.

A guy applying for the enlisted side would have difficulty getting in with a misdemeanor. An officer candidate would have a snowball's chance in hell of getting in.

your fine dude. the fact that your thirteen will help. even if you were older and had a record already you wouldn't be in that big of a mess. You can still get a job. your gonna need to cuz it will cost money. see if your parents can get you a lawyer that will get you continuances till your fourteen, get a job and pay your fine. you'll prolly get some type of bench probation and a fine or even better not even a fine if probation is not violated it may not even go on your juvi record.

You will probably get 25 to life and have to go to actual prison when you hit 18. Then you will get fisted by a big man named Susie.

Yeah, you're screwed. It's going on your record. You'll never get a job. You'll be expelled from school. They're gonna start putting you on no-fly lists

Possibly all of the above? Sure. That's why you don't get caught with an illegal drug. I'd try shifting to salvia if I were you.
