How do I keep a 7 1/2 year old 5th degree assault (lowest) from blocking gainful employment?

It was over 7 yrs ago, In MN, you can be charged w/it for SCARING someone, (A guy who appeared at my door in a jealous frenzy)

Heck, I only got a $100 fine, and a year prob.

I CANNOT GET AN EXPUNGEMENT

How do I camoflage it??

    Don't camouflage it. Directly bring it up. "I think it's also noteworthy that, if you do a background check on me, you will find something. More than seven years ago, an angry ex showed up at my house and we had an argument. I was charged with a misdemeanor and fined $100. I wanted to clear up that I'm not a criminal, I just verbally, and loudly, defend my family in our home."

    Doesn't sound like you have anything to be ashamed of so, address it directly.

    First, contact the Court Clerk to request an Application To Seal Records. This takes weeks to complete the processing, so in the meantime, initiate comments on your record, telling your interviewer what's what.

    it probably wouldn't even show up on any background check and why would they care from 7+ yrs ago?
