What kinds of diseases could be transmitted via small amounts of saliva?

I'm talking about a few mgs. Any serious ones? Writing a report for a class.

John, If the saliva is transmitted by kissing, or even perhaps by kissing when some of the infected person's saliva enters another person's mouth, there are several infectious diseases that could be transmitted. These include the many viruses that cause colds or flu. Add bacteria that cause gonorrhea, certain Strep, and syphilis. Other virus possibilities include HPV (humanpapillomavirus) and herpes. AIDS is almost never transmitted by saliva. By the way, saliva would be measured not by weight (which is what mgs or milligrams means), but rather by volume which is milliliters (mL). Good luck with your report. Choose your kissing partners carefully before you "swap spit" with them. Some risks are inevitable.
