Most overrated Player In the MLB and why?

Personally I feel it is Joba Chamberlain. All the media ever did was talk about him year in and year out. Gave him all these limitations and look at him, he's not spectacular.

Whats your take on my question? Also how do you feel about Joba?

Joba Chamberlain. The way people talk about him, it's like he's the second coming or something.

BTW, is it a coincidence that everyone's answer was a Yankee? LOL

I'm a Yankees fan and even I feel like Joba is over rated. Continuing with the theme of feeling my own team's players being over rated. Jeter! He won a freaking gold glove with a bottom five fielding percentage among shortstops. I love the guy and the way he plays but this was by far his worst year and I can't believe he was whining about the Yankees' initial offer.

I agree Joba is overrated but I think A-Rod is a little overrated yes hes good but not like everyone makes him out to be.

With the contract he just signed how could it not be Jason Werth.20 years from now he will be the answer to

the Trivia Question "Who Is The Most Overrated Major League Baseball Player Ever?"

Anybody who isn't a Yankees fan may not even know who Joba Chamberlain is. The correct answer to this question is Derrick Jeter.

He wins gold gloves.. while being a poor fielding shortstop.

He gets a huge contract.. after putting up a truly pathetic season.

He gets All Star appearance after All Star appearance.. while there are a half dozen or more better players at his position.

I think A-RIOD is the most overrated, everyone says he is so great when there are other players out there with better stats.

Yeah I agree with you to, Joba is overrated. Once again, everyone says he is so great because he is in the pinstripes but truthfully he sucks. There are MANY relivers with better stats than him.

    Hitter- Derek Jeter

Pitcher- Tie for Joba, and Barry Zito

By the way Homey, if Jeter was "nothing special" as you claim, he wouldn't be going to the Hall of Fame. He is one of the greatest HITTING shortstops of all time. Just because he isn't great defensively doesn't mean he isn't recognizable as a great player. Mike Piazza was a poor defensive catcher but we know he's going to the hall.

Yes Joba is over-rated as well, but A-Rod is even more overrated. He is a prima dona because of his lifesty

e, his salart, his infidelities with other celebs. Even though he is most likely to get inducted into the baseball HOF, he doesn't deserve it because he admitted to using

roids. All that information will be overlooked, and it will be treated as if nothing happened

Source(s): A-Rod is cool (constipated, overrated, out of style loser)!

Jason Werth. I am not impressed with his .260 career avg with runners in scoring position. He also had 99 RBIs in his best season and has only hit more than 30 HRs once. Also he only has one all star appearance and one 8th place finish in NL MVP voting on his resume.

I don't know why the Nationals shelled out that astronomical deal for him.

Joba is overrated, but since his first year he simply has not pitchrd well. Maybe he is not a very good pitcher.
