It does not. Importation of cheap goods creates a few jobs in the import distribution areas. Those jobs do not equal the number of manufacturing jobs lost when the products are no longer produced in this country.

The wealth created by the manufacture and sales of the cheap imports goes to the corporate owners who invest it in the foreign manufacturing countries. The jobs go to them, which leaves the US without a basis for jobs.

No jobs, no income being produced to purchase more goods. Eventually all the residual wealth held by the middle class savings will be spent and then the country becomes a third world country.

It's a two step process. We buy their stuff and make them money so they buy our stuff and make us money. The goal is for them to buy more of our stuff than we buy of theirs in order to profit. If we stop buying their stuff they'll stop buying ours and nobody will win.
