Unique, Different, Out of the ordinary.
Mostly because I myself, are very strange/different and if my kid is going to have a part of me in them, then there might be a Chance they will too. So they deserve a name to fit. :)
Examples Girls: AnnaBelle Marie, Mika Belle, Ambrosia, Muse...etc.
Examples Boys: Boston Layne, General Layne, Crimson, Niko Lee...ect.

Well, I honestly go for the Classic names for both genders since you can never go wrong with them; they never go out of style and you can never "date" them, like other names such as Donna (70s) or Jessica (80s).
In my definition, Old fashioned name are names that aren't really used anymore or names that our grandparents + have i.e Matilda, Gertrude, Maude, Percival, Cuthbert, etc.
I consider trendy names as names that are very hot on the charts at the moment (because of a new movie, book, etc.) but will eventually fade and become, as I mentioned, "dated". What's good about trendy names is because since they're so well-liked, they're very common, which can either be a good thing or a bad thing considering what kind of person you are.
Some people confuse 'trendy' with tacky, made-up names though, so I just wanted to clear that up.
I personally prefer the classic names which are getting more well-known but aren't in the Top Ten or in the Been-There-Done-That section, if you know what I mean.
Examples (girls): Examples (boys):
1. Madelyn Grace 1. Liam James
2. Lilly Charlotte 2. Noah Greyson
3. Ava Elizabeth 3. Lucas Jack
All of these name have a special meaning to me.
I just want my kids to have nice, known names without being one in millions of them :)

I don't think of them as 'baby' names. They've got to be suitable for a person at every stage in their life, not just when they're a baby - I think a lot of people forget that when they pick a name that they describe as 'cute' or 'adorable'. A professional person in their 40s is not helped by a name that's 'adorable'.
It's actually easier to tell you what names I *don't* like. I don't like:
- Surnames as first names
- Names that are clearly made up by the parents
- Names that are misspelled
- Names that are random things, cities, months, days, seasons, countries etc. When someone who is not only not English but has never even been to England and has no connection with England announces that they're calling their child 'London' I want to puke. Similarly an English person wanting to call their child Tennessee or something.
- Boys' names for girls
- Names that are clearly linked with flash-in-the-pan celebrities or their children (eg Miley, Willow, Brooklyn)
My favourite names for boys are Alexander, Sebastian, Stephen, John, George, Jacob, William and Fraser. My favourite names for girls are Rose, Alice, Sophie, Polly, Kate, Grace and Amy. I suppose they'd be 'classic'? Or maybe old-fashioned, since all those names would have been perfectly acceptable a couple of centuries ago...

Mine is a little different for each gender.
--For girls, I really enjoy classic & traditional names. Some have a little twist, but it's mainly classics!
Examples: Violet Madeline, Leila Caroline, Charlotte Elise, Ava Scarlett, Delilah Ruby, Julia Katherine
--For boys, I tend to lean towards very uncommon boys names. I strongly dislike trendy names [for either gender]. Some of my boys names are classic/traditional but the majority are uncommon. I prefer them to be very masculine!
Examples: Jackson Riley, Mason Cooper, Connor Elliot, Owen Blake, Oliver Kade, Lucas Jensen, Carson Tate, Griffin Parker, Cash Harrison

I like classically common names.
Elizabeth, James. I'm not sure what category the name Tessa falls under but that might be considered something besides common.
I also like names that have been in my family, Lee (as a middle name), David, Andrew, Leah, Shawn.
Best Regards,
Sammy

Mix between tendy and classic
Because I like to be unqiue (i don't like weird spellings though) however people go over the top by using two trendy names in a row

I prefer unique names that aren't super popular or extremely common, but I can't really give an example.

The only criteria my husband and I have are:
-spelling- we don't do unique spelling because it is very frustrating as a child goes through life having their name misspelled on everything
-"weirdness"- we don't mind unique, but we don't want to make our child's life miserable
