Ipod Touch Battery Lifespan?

I've heard that an ipod touch battery lifespan is about 1-2 years of usage but I want to know if they are things I could do to extend It, like the other day I read that if I discharge the battery completely and charge it completely again once a month it well help extend it. Is that true? and please give me other tips. BTW i have the new ipod touch 4g

The thing about the once a month isn't about extending the battery life - no it won't do that. What it does is callibrates the battery, so the amount of battery remaining that your ipod is displaying, is as closely accurate to what there actually is.

I had an ipod touch for about 3 years and the battery never really went down by much, what makes it decrease is the amount of rubbish you have on there so maybe think about resettting it every so often.

Try to use the battery down to about 10% before you plug it in to charge it full again. No biggie if you can't do it every time but it will definitely help.

That is not true. Older batteries were like that.
