THEE place to go for recycling information and resources is Earth911; there are links below.

The question I would ask however is, how many CDs and DVDs are you talking of? Maybe the best solution would be re-use or re-purposing. There are several re-use and re-purposing projects and crafts uysing CDs and DVDs. But, often getting an adequate number at one time is not as easy.

For example, many people swear by using CDs and DVDs to repel birds in fruit trees; I suppose the same could work for blueberry bushes and other berry patches too. What you do is hang the CDs and DVDs from the branches. Their movement and the light reflecting off of them are used to repel birds.

For example, there are a number of craft projects developed to use scratched, broken, damaged, or else wise unwanted CDs and DVDs. A re-use or re-purposing project may be feasable for an individual or small group. But, larger groups of say Scouts, Campfire, school classes, school art class, or school "green club" often have troubles gathering enough craft project supplies for the entire group to participate. (I can remember my mother actually buying a specific brand of dish soap just so that I could have the bottle for a Campfire project; the bottle was not a scrap and she begrudgingly used the soap up so that I could have the bottle.) If you have a quantity, one of these groups might very much appreciate your donation; certainly some of the mothers might. Further, your CDs and DVDs are defintely scrap and as such, are much more in line with the intent of scrap or junk crafting than doing a project with an else wise usable CD or DVD.

Freecycle.org might be a good place to list your CDs and DVDs whether they are still playable or not; just be sure to represent them accurrately. Freecycle.org is housed by Yahoo Groups.

    Hi there,

I am on the lookout for items that i can resell to raise funds for community groups in Ellon.

I collect items from local residents and the council.

At the moment everything i have collected is stored in a stable/barn in Auchmacoy, i am hoping this maybe come a shop/workshop.

I am also "talking" with various council members to takeover a empty property in the town square.

A working title for my "big idea" is The Collectors Store. Website etc to follow in the new year.

If you have any CDs or DVDs you can spare i can arrange collection and would be most thankfull.

    You can contact me at - carl@wildhoney.co.uk / 01358 724626.

Again, any contributions are most welcome and thanks for your time.
