Can You Seal Acrylic Paint on Glass with Nail Polish?

I painted two wine glasses for my mom for Christmas using Acrylic Paint. I bought a brand new bottle of clear nail polish to seal the paint to the glasses, but after spending so much time painting, I'm worried that this may be a bad idea.. I really don't want to ruin them they look great!

Can I use nail polish for this? If not, what should I use?

    acrylic paint and nail polish will definetely work. nail polish can smell really strong though. but if you're fine with it then you can use nail polish :)
