Would you date a truck driver?

It has been 22 years since i was on the road. This latest generation is soft compared to my day. They drink cappuccino and use hand cream to soften their skin. The truck all have AC, and many now have automatic transmissions.

Trucking is not what it was in my day. The so called "Lot Lizards" no longer frequent the truck stops as the CB Radio has lost it's appeal. It sounds like he is a line hauler, and not a long haul driver, if he is home on weekends. I got home every few months.

My brother is still a truck diver, hauling oil rig equipment. They are men, like any other, except they like working a job that does not involve punching a clock in a factory or an office.

As for his child support, consider giving him these to make sure he is not overpaying.

Didnt date one, but my mother was a truck driver. Its was very hard on our family, and my dad eventually wound up cheating on her because she was never home. If you can cope with them not being there except for (average, a weekend a month) then i wouldnt bother with it. Its too much effort to try and keep a budding relationship growing. They may be a great person, but there is a reason why they chose an occupation where they werent based anywhere.

Stay away, I know a lot of truck drivers and most of them meet prostitutes on the road and are nasty.

I think that saying all truck drivers are ugly, fat, and smell funny is very stereo-typical. If you love him and he treats you right, then it doesn't matter what occupation he holds.
