Why can't vehicle manufactures put the windscreen washer bottle and pump inside the vehicle.?

During the recent low temperatures my washers have frozen up every day, starting with the bottle and pump, despite having a high concentrate in.

If they were inside the car they would be less likely to be affected over night and would soon thaw out when the heater got going.

It's not rocket science.

Update:

Obviously Jerry G doesn't know that water is non compressible and providing the height of the bottle is the same no extra power would be needed, Another "expert" on Yahoo.

Update 2:

The heat comes from the internal heater using the hot water from the engine Buster and has nothing to do with the washer bottle. Another brain dead answer.

Update 3:

Kenny hasn't read the question properly with regard to the concentrate.

Update 4:

Wish I hadn't bothered, another bunch of brain dead 2 pointers.

It was MINUS 20F degrees here yesterday and my outside mounted washer pump worked just fine.

You obviously are using the wrong washer fluid concentration. This stuff should still be fluid at MINUS 30 and lower.

Not much warmer inside the car than it is under the hood and where do you think the heat from your heater comes from? doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out, nor is it rocket science

And you are going to refill it on your dash and hear the pump humming every time you use it. Besides the fact that if the fluid inside the car will freeze also. It may take a little longer, but the temp will get there.

Anyway, they have de-ice fluids available.

In your version the pump would have to be much bigger and stronger to pump the fluid from the inside to the outside. Also not rocket science.

If it were inside the vehicle and it leaked, wouldn't you be wishing that it were under the hood?
