What is the best role playing adventure game for the Playstation 3?

I may sound cliche saying this but i honestly do think final fantasy 13 is the best role playing game for the ps3. The game looks outstanding and the music if phenomenal. the voice acting is top notch and it delivers 60+ hours of gameplay which is less than a $1 and hour. thats well worth what you're paying for. though i have to mention i did feel the gameplay was repetitive at times and the story was a little was a little too over the top ( its a japanese rpg, what do you expect?) but the beautiful graphics will keep you well engaged and you have a blast leveling up and making your characters stronger. the boss battles are plentiful and are the perfect level of difficulty where they will test your skill but you won't be tearing your hair out of frustration.

If you liked Oblivion, then you'll like Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. All three games are made by the same company (Bethesda), and all play similar.

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas (you don't need to play one to play the other) are in post apocalyptic America (after Nukes have been dropped). Fallout 3 is based in Washington D.C., and Fallout New Vegas is based in Nevada (Las Vegas is but a small part of the map, so the name New Vegas is a little misleading).

I liked Oblivion, and I love/hate Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Both Fallout games are great, but they are known for crashing, and crashing a lot (especially Fallout 3). As long as you save often, and can handle having to reset the console, you will like the games.

There are other Action RPG games, but Fallout is what I would recommend. Dragon Age: Origins is made by a different company, but does play similar to Oblivion, F3 and F:NV, and is a good game as well. There is also another Dragon Age game on the way as well. F3 has plenty of DLC that will also keep you busy, and I'm sure F:NV will have some as well.

Dragon Age: Origins isn't a bad game, good replay value to keep you entertained for a few weeks. Also Fallout 3 is made by the same people as Oblivion and was the 2008 game of the year. Highly recommended if you haven't already played it. Demons Souls maybe aswell but only if your up for a very difficult challenge.

Well Dragon Age is great. its a more linear game than oblivion, still quite a lot of fun.

Fallout 3 or New Vegas. They use the same engine as Oblivion, but its set in a post apocalyptic era.

Mass Effect is a space based RPG (same engine as Dragon age). to the game is relatively linear, but still cool.

fallout 3 or fallout new vegas are really good rpg's. if your ps3 mass effect which is also a killer game is coming in january
