It is supposed to be a Pagan tradition borrowed and adopted by Christianity, and tied in, not with an exact date to the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior and Son of God whom many people were waiting for. You wouldn't be able to call them Christians then, until after Christ. So, we have the wise men or magi and all that stuff which is pretty cool, and decent, even righteous! We are supposed to extrapolate generosity, goodwill to all other people, and peace on Earth, if everything went as planned.

I will celebrate being nice to people, already gave to charity (strangers), persons in need not related, and small token gifts to family members - things they'll enjoy and can use, gift certificates too.

We'll have dinner, roast turkey and stuffing, some wine and a few alcoholic beverages, because they're special and we don't drink all the time. We have special baking too and desserts.

Last but not least, I attend church as least once or twice during the season, sing hymns and greet people. We thank God for blessings and ask for faith and blessings in the new year.

To me the meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ even tho I know that is most likely not the day He was born, And as for how I will celebrate it? well I celebrate it every chance I get by praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ not only on Dec 25th.

The true meaning of Christmas is Christ. Weather he actually died on that day or not that is why it's celebrated my Christians.

blessings. The true meaning is that Christ was conceived around that time. We go to a Christmas service at church then open presents that night on the eve.

It means those choosing to celebrate do not care what Jesus taught about his Father requiring only pure worship, without any pagan mixtures. Neither do they care about pleasing God nor Jesus personally. Doing anything just because we want to does not make it right if it displeases God and Jesus.

Good food, good friends, family gatherings, maybe a present or two, hopefully it is something you wanted or needed, helping out the less fortunate. It is a good holiday and it will get better the more we separate it from religion.
