Which type of raw peanut is best for peanut brittle?

I am making peanut brittle but the peanuts that I bought for the recipe are Spanish peanuts. I didn't even know there were different kinds of peanuts. The Spanish ones taste different to me and not much like a peanut. Is there a certain type of raw peanut that works best and tates good in peanut brittle?

they taste different because they are raw.

That is what usually goes in peanut brittle.

I just made some today with Spanish peanuts.

    Yours will be fine.

In fact, Spanish peanuts are the only ones I have ever seen that come raw in the stores. I have often wondered if the Spanish part is where they are from or if that is the name for raw peanuts.
