First Christmas without Santa Claus?
My child is 18 and still lives at home. Santa will not visit our home this year for her. Traditionally, we always opened family gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa gifts on Christmas morning. Our family gifts are under the tree but... with no santa claus... what do you do on Christmas morning for your adult children still living with you? I feel very "off" with only giving ONE gift...and nothing on Christmas morning?
I do plan on making a special Christmas dinner. Something I never really did because, frankly, santa claus wore me out and, I always do a huge Thanksgiving. This year, I have the time + energy to make a nice Christmas dinner for my husband (he's always wanted me to do that). I still don't know how to make Christmas morning special for my santa clausless daughter...
naw, she hasn't believed in Santa for a while. But, we still "did" santa claus on Christmas mornings. We did that with our oldest daughter too but, my other daughter joined the army at 18 so not having Santa Claus for her was a non-issue.

Tell her that you are going out to buy some groceries and instead bring some presents for her , but don't show them , at midnight hide them behind a Christmas tree and surprise her , whatever you do make sure she doesn't see you keep the presents , when she wakes up she will be so astonished , also try to decorate the house with whatever you can . Also include a gift that your daughter has been asking for .

definitely, it feels somewhat diverse for me without the decorations, lights fixtures and Santa Claus. because of the fact they liven up the Christmas spirit. even nonetheless i've got grown right into a youthful grownup, the sensation like a baby continues to be comparable to standard. yet, specific, what's substantial is the christmas spirit interior our hearts. right here is an excerpt from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol: "there are a number of stuff from which i might have derived sturdy, via which I certainly have not profited, I dare say. Christmas between the rest. yet i'm optimistic I certainly have constantly concept-approximately Christmas time, whilst it has come around -- different than for the veneration because of its sacred call and foundation, if something belonging to it fairly is different than for that -- as a competent time: a type, forgiving, charitable, friendly time: the only time i understand of, interior the long calendar of the twelve months, whilst men and ladies look via one consent to open their close-up hearts freely, and to think of of people decrease than them as though they even have been fellow-passengers to the grave, and not yet another race of creatures certain on different journeys. And for this reason, uncle, nonetheless it has in no way placed a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, i've got self assurance that it has performed me sturdy, and could do me sturdy; and that i say, God bless it!" ~Scrooge's nephew i think this explains precisely what authentic Christmas is.

I am 34 with a family of my own and my mom still makes us kids a stocking. This year my brothers and I found a HUGE stocking for my mom and we started stuffing it back in July. I can't wait for her to see it ,it took two of us to carry it in the house. get her a stocking. say from mom and dad. then let her down gently about Santa.(you may want to break out the Baileys for this.) lol

Your "child" is 18 and just found out that Santa Claus isn't real? Or am I not reading your statement right?
