Well.. ive watched the last airbender on my own time. and it doesnt mention what they do with them. maybe you could make something up like..
When they die they make like.. and coffin-like boat, and sail they're body out to sea or something like that.

Use Wikipeadia, or watch re-runs. I'm sure you can figure it out ;)
Or!!!! you can make that up on your own if you can't find the answer.
