Has this ever happened to you?

It's Christmas morning. You and your family have just finished opening your presents. While enjoying family time, there is a knock at the door. You open to answer and it is a couple of Jehovah's Witness know-it-alls attempting to lecture you about the origins of Christmas. Don't you all find that rude?

Update:

@ Steve t I am not making this up. Two witnesses came to my house introduced themselves, had their watchtower or awake magazines. One witness stated "We want to talk to you about the origins of Christmas" and that's when I became annoyed. I politely told them that I already know about the origins of Christmas and she continued as if I didn't say anything. That's when I politely told them that I wasn't interested, then they left and went to the house next door! They are relentless.

Rude? What's more rude......Jehovah's Witnesses out doing the preaching work that JESUS said his followers should be doing, or YOU celebrating a false religious holiday that Jesus never said to do, nor is there any Bible indication that anyone ever celebrated?

Hmmm, I think you lose this one, so quit your ranting. Nobody was there to "lecture" you on anything. Also, your lying to them and telling them you already know about the origins of Christmas is also quite rude. If you actually knew the origins, it's doubtful you'd be celebrating such a ridiculous holiday.

** And regarding Fireball's claim of being saved: no she isn't. The Bible says "he who endures to the end is the one that will be saved". Is the end here? Nope, not yet. Therefore, she isn't saved.

  • I don't believe you for one moment.

There is no way that one of Jehovah's Witnesses would "attempt to lecture you about the origins of Christmas" on December 25th

    ...No way

Lecture? No but I know of some in my congregation who do go out on Dec 25 and talk to those who are in remote areas and share the Good News about Gods Kingdom, but they never give lectures.

Why are you making this up? That's not what we do. If you were visited today by some of our brothers and sisters they wouldn't have brought up the subject of christmas out of respect. Unless you asked them about it, then they would have politely told you why. Is this the peace and goodwill that you people wish upon everyone that I'm seeing here? Pathetic.

They must know the truth, because they witnessed jehovah. They can prove it in the court of law.

I read all these questions about "How do you get rid of JW or Mormons when they come to your door"

Doesn't anybody know or have the guts to just say (to anyone you don't want there) "I'm Busy sorry" then close the door.

    Isn't that simple?

  • If you were about to step near a dangerous snake, you'd appreciate a warning, right?

If you were about to fall off a cliff, you'd appreciate it if someone grabbed your arm and pulled you back away from that cliff, right?

God made it quite clear He has huge problems with paganism. You are taking part in a paganistic practice. They are trying to warn you before you anger God yet again with your paganism. If you do not want to hear it, if you'd rather get bitten by a poisonous snake or just fall off the cliff, then do so. Ignore the warning and deal with the consequences. But they listen to God's word.

Ezekiel 3:18-21--When I say to someone wicked, ‘You will positively die,’ and you do not actually warn him and speak in order to warn the wicked one from his wicked way to preserve him alive, he being wicked, in his error he will die, but his blood I shall ask back from your own hand. 19) But as for you, in case you have warned someone wicked and he does not actually turn back from his wickedness and from his wicked way, he himself for his error will die; but as for you, you will have delivered your own soul. 20) And when someone righteous turns back from his righteousness and actually does injustice and I must put a stumbling block before him, he himself will die because you did not warn him. For his sin he will die, and his righteous acts that he did will not be remembered, but his blood I shall ask back from your own hand. 21) And as for you, in case you have warned someone righteous that the righteous one should not sin, and he himself does not actually sin, he will without fail keep on living because he had been warned, and you yourself will have delivered your own soul.”

Matthew 24:14--And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Matthew 28:19-20--Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20) teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU.

You want to play games with God, then do so. See how that works out for you. But those Witnesses will live, having warned you of what you are about to do, they are free of bloodguilt.
