  • Everyone, I need some advice...?

What do you got for me?

I was already told these little nuggets of wisdom:

    1) never play leap frog with a unicorn

    2) never promise crazy a baby

What else do you got for me?

  • What was that whole walrus thing with the hippies about?

I sometimes listen to the local Oldies station and it has some pretty good songs, but sometimes the artists used lyrics for their time that no longer make sense.

And in a couple of songs that sound like they were protest songs from the 60's mention what sounds like "walrus," though I am not sure it is walrus. But if it is, what were they referencing? And if it is not walrus, what are they actually saying in those songs and what did they mean by it?

Thanks to anyone who knows what I'm talking about (I understand I didn't give the best description, but I don't know the names of the songs) and is willing to help.

  • Do sugar-free or diet sodas have the same effect on teeth that regular sodas do?

I know that the diet sodas have other health issues; but I'm curious about their effects on teeth specifically. Is there a similar acidity, or does the lack of sugar mean they are easier on teeth than regular sodas?

  • What do these lyrics in the Rihanna song "Diamonds" mean?

    Palms rise to the universe

    as we moonshine and molly...

What does the "moonshine and molly" part mean? I tried looking it up, and it would appear to refer to drug use, but that doesn't really fit in with the rest of the song.

So I wanted to be more sure of what it means before I let my kid listen to the song any more.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Do you want to know why gay marriage should not be allowed?

Because when you allow gays to get together, that's when they do things like make the movie RENT, and who wants that?

  • I have two questions about the phrase "gal friday"?

I have heard the term "gal friday," but I don't know what it means.

First, can someone tell me what it means or where and how I'm supposed to use the phrase; and secondly, can someone tell me how the phrase began, what the story behind it is...?

    Thanks.

  • I was wondering about the guy who was cast as Satan in that "documentary" the Bible?

Many say he might be Barack Obama.

But is true that we can know that Satan is not Barack Obama, because Satan was able to make a deal with Congress?

  • A legal guardian question?

I was watching an episode of Law & Order. In the episode, the officers are dealing with a cult leader, and one of the cult members was trying to escape, but fell back in after he got back on drugs.

The cult leader shows up at the hospital and tells the officers that the kid's parents had signed over legal guardianship to the cult leader (who was pretending to be a counselor of a special institute), and so they could not keep the cult leader away from the kid.

I figured this could happen and that the show more or less got the legalities correct. I was wondering, if a parent willfully (was not court ordered in any way) signs over legal guardianship to anyone, can they come back later and rescind that legal guardianship? Especially if they find out that the one to whom they signed that legal guardianship was in some way a criminal or a danger to the child?

  • I'm looking for a game as a gift (either PS3 or PC)?

The ones for whom this gift is for are 14-16 years old. I'm hoping for a popular game, but it can't be too violent and cannot contain magic. Maybe a racing game or something like that, although I hear they are quite fond of the game Minecraft or Starcraft or something like that (I apologize I can't be specific, games just are not my thing).

Any ideas would be nice. I would imagine they would prefer a PS3 game, mostly because they just got that system.

    Thanks for any help.

  • I need a desert that has no sugar and no wheat?

I'm going over to a friend's house and I would like to bring a desert. The problem is that he has diabetes and his wife has that no-gluten disease whose name escapes me at the moment (the one Elizabeth Hasselbeck is always talking about, but I never listen to her and so I cannot remember the name exactly...something like Celiac disease, I think, but I don't know for sure).

Any ideas on what I might be able to bring? Sugar-free stuff is all right, but I can't bring things like a sugar-free pie, for example, because it has wheat in it.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

  • I need some date ideas?

    Thanks to anyone who helps.

Certain requirements have to be met:

The date must be chaperoned, and the most likely chaperones will either be her parents or a friend of her father's and his wife. The girl I am interested in is visiting her parents from out of town, and this family friend and his wife are on vacation and will be staying at her parents' home along with her. But it might be nice to have something for them to do that will keep them entertained, but not make any of them feel like I'm trying to "get them out of the way."

It is winter and she doesn't take cold all that well, so it will probably have to indoors (either at her parents' house or at a nearby establishment of some kind).

Whatever idea it is, it cannot be too physical like dancing or bowling, I have a badly sprained ankle and a twisted knee right now from a injury at work.

A group date could be a possible option, as her cousin is my best friend, and I'm friends with my potential date's best friend also. So if you have ideas that could include an entire group of about 5-10 individuals, that would also be appreciated. It does not have to be a group date, but if you have any ideas on one it would be appreciated.

Thank you to anyone who helps; I've not been on a date in a couple of years now because I was focused on more spiritual goals, and I no longer have any ideas about good dates.

  • When converting to Islam, is the name change considered necessary?

I was watching the Olympics where they were talking about Mohammad Ali, who of course was once known as Cassius Clay. Is the name change a necessary part of conversion to Islam, or is it an action that some want to take but is not necessary?

And if it is necessary, would Islam require that it be registered with any governmental authorities (i.e. officially get your name changed with any state and federal governments in whichever government handles it for that individual in whichever country he or she is in)?

Is it necessary for females who convert to Islam?

  • I was watching a movie, and I have a question?

Right now, the movie Top Gun is on AMC, of which my satellite company is giving me a special preview. Now I have not seen this movie since I was 12 or 13 years old, and so I did not notice much of this before...but this is about the straight gayest movie (no pun intended, but funny to me nonetheless) I've ever seen.

And I am not just talking about that volleyball scene, though that is fairly gay with all those oiled up guys. I'm talking about all that flirting that was going on between Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer. They were flirting so much I was afraid that Tom Cruise was going to cheat on his life partner Anthony Edwards.

As a Christian, can I still watch this movie? Right now with so little on TV, my only other option is watching Batman Forever, and that movie has the same Val Kilmer, only in a rubber latex suit and hanging out with his "young ward" Robin.

  • Who should I vote for?

Well, my gut says that Mitt Romney is a good choice, but my heart says that gut is a dang moron and that I should choose Rick Santorum. So they get to carrying on and it is giving me serious indigestion. Should I just let my brain be the tiebreaker? Brain says go with Obama.
