Do sugar-free or diet sodas have the same effect on teeth that regular sodas do?

I know that the diet sodas have other health issues; but I'm curious about their effects on teeth specifically. Is there a similar acidity, or does the lack of sugar mean they are easier on teeth than regular sodas?

The lack of sugar means they will not cause decay, but they tend to be more acidic. The acid can cause erosion if consumed too frequently. Basically, they are both as bad, and should be consumed in moderation.

its not just the sugar, its the carbonated water that screws ur teeth. Coke, diet coke, mineral water, soda water, whatever..
