Help with 20 month old only wanting milk/bottle?

My 20 month old only only wants milk and only wants to drink it out of a bottle. He just cut 5 teeth back to back and was sick (4 were molars). I just got him back sleeping through the night. But he still won't eat much when I place him in a chair. Sometimes he may have a little egg/bacon/tomatoes/chicken. I give him a cup at mealtimes but he won't drink it. But most meals he is just missing. He does consistently want his bottle of milk after meals. Does anyone have a great way to make this transition a little easier than cold turkey that will result in a lot of crying. I thought of watering down the milk - does this work?

The milk is probably filling him up so he doesn't want to eat.

I would not water the milk down, but I would cut down on the amount per bottle. Milk does not have the iron or vitamins and minerals the baby needs, so at this age real food is important. tempt him with his favorite good foods in small quantities. As he feels better, he should eat a bit more.

Is he drinking whole milk? If so then let him drink as much as he wants but u need to work on getting him to drink from a sippy cup.
