What is the best way to tag/name photos for a blog? (specifically for SEO)?

Give your images a keyword rich file name because it will increase your odds of getting traffic from Google Images. So for example, if you have a picture of a Persian cat on your website, instead of the image path being domain.com/images/cat.jpg you should call it domain.com/images/persian-cat.jpg. Be descriptive without going overboard.

Well .... first of all save or rename the image according to the relevant topic on your computer because whenever you will upload that image it should have a last extension with that specific name according to the subject/topic for which you are uploading the image there..for e.x. path/domain/image-name...this image name should be relevant...you can also keep relevant keyword as image name...secondly, you have to select two more relevant keywords, one to be set in the image alt tag i.e into the html section of the page and second as a title again into the html section..this title will appear whenever someone will hover mouse on your image.

Remember one thing relevancy is the most important while selecting the keywords for meta tags or image tags & title in the backend. That will help to boost up ranking for your site with less efforts.
