Why are brothels wrong?
In England, and other places, brothels are illegal.
If I were in charge, I would make them legal for the following reasons:
Men (and women) will pay for sex, whether it's legal or not, so it might as well be legal
If a brothel registers as a business they can be taxed
Last year a number of prostitutes were picked up off the street and murdered, this would not have happened if they were safe inside a brothel.
If something did happen to one of the prostitutes they would fear going to the police to report it.
So what do you think about this?
How would it effect sex trafficking?
Would you be more likely to visit a brothel if it was legal?

Cause it's dictated so by up-tight religious freaks.
It's not my business if people want to pay for sex. Making brothels legal will provide the workers with protections (physical security, health monitoring, the ability to go to the police w/o fear of getting arrested) that the vast majority of prostitutes don't have now.
If you don't like it, or think it's not moral, simply solution, don't go there.

Nothing wrong with Brothels to me. It sadly would do little to stop the sex trade, prostitutes can still be on the street. The difference is that street prostitutes would charge less then the brothel, only way for them to make money still. I wouldn't plan to use the service of any prostitute, but at least a brothel would likely be safer. The advantage a brothel has is they can be regulated as well. That would include making the prostitutes be tested. Problem is that people will always insist on using the laws on morality. Well outlawing a brothel doesn't stop prostitution. Legalizing it wouldn't cause problems with morality either. The people who are going to cheat on their spouse(since people will argue family values as far as it not being victimless to legalize) are going to do it no matter what. They will create far more victims by NOT having a brothel to go to. They will be far more likely to pick up a disease and pass it to their spouse. Whether they go to a street whore or go pick some girl up in a bar for a one night stand. They will cheat one way or another.

I agree that they should be legal. I've always liked the idea of how they run it in Nevada. Prostitution is only legal in brothels. They give the counties the option to license brothels or not, and regulate it. Condoms are mandatory and the women have medical exams every couple weeks. The odds of you contracting an STI is a lot greater from your spouse/girlfriend than it is from a legal prostitute in a brothel.
And for those that say it's "morally wrong," no one is forcing you to visit them. If the price was affordable, and I was not involved with anyone else, I may consider visiting one (I did in other countries when I was in the Navy and single with no girlfriend).

Brothels aren't wrong
unless the person is forced to be working there, or not being paid (far more likely to happen while it's illegal)
where brothels are legal, both parties have to consent to STD testing, so yes I would be far more likely to visit a legal brothel. Las Vegas has 'em.

Brothels are wrong because of religion. Plain and simple and historically speaking religion has played a HUGE part in every aspect of government and lawmaking, no matter what country your in or what religion it/they/you practice. The "morally righteous" often rule the day regardless of how righteous they actually are or not.

you might as well admit it a world without men in a brothel because with a license neither one can see the light of day. that's why christ was crucified on a cross- the romans needed to see the orders given by herod and toes committing were blocking the holy laws with their bodies together . yes it did lead up to murder and the respect lines of a holy spirit keeps us from all harm. the book of job is written in so many nations it covers a multitude of sins, get it today. I agree with you - there are counties in Nevad USA where it is legal and they don't have any of the problems associated with the illegal kind. The girls are checked regularily for diseases and they are drug tested as well.
I am married so I wouldn't visit myself but if I was single I might.

What consenting adults do is nobodies business...so I agree with your conclusion, but not with your reasons.
I don't think it should be legal just because people do it anyway...It should be legal because it's not for me to say otherwise.
I certainly wouldn't legalize it so I could impose a new tax.
I respect anyone who uses their own assets to provide for themselves and their family without reliance on government or charity.
At this point in my sex life, I probably would not visit...but my circumstances could change.

To answer your question you need someone that is more of a moral righteous person than you will most likely find on Yahoo. I never have understood why it was so morally reprehensible to be a whore regardless if it for money.
