Breathing while running?
While running, is it better to breathe in through your mouth, nose, or both? What is the best way to have good breathing while running and best way to build stamina?
Thanks in advance!

I have been running for a long time. And, me personnaly I ALWAYS breath through my mouth. Just becuase when you breath through your mouth you get more air and oxygen. I also find it easier. But, it all depends on the person. I know some people who breath through there nose. So really its just a matter of what YOU feel is easier or more comfortable. I would just reccomend to try both ways, and just decide wich one you like better.
As for the stamina, just running everyday will help. Everyday just try to run for a 2-3 minutes longer than the day before, and before you know it you will be able to run miles withoute stopping.
I hope this helped :) good luck!

Breathing is easy to explain,
In through either the nose or the mouth
Out through either the nose or the mouth
The important bit is getting the order right - IN then OUT, In then In then Out won't work for example. How the air gets into the lungs is not important so long as it gets there. Everyone is different and the best way to figure out what your body wants to do is to run for 10 minutes and then see how you are breathing - that is how your body wants to breath. My only real tip with breathing is that your body has been breathing for you all your life and so far has got it right - you are not dead - so leave it to what it knows best and you concentrate on things like steering (not running into cars and so on).
Building stamina is all about running and slowly running further each session (increasing distances by 10% a week is a good recommendation). That is all there is to it. Run 2 or 3 short runs a week and one long run (half as far again as a short run) and that should do it

I breath as long as I can through my nose to build lung endurance but also because it warms the frigid air. At this point, though I breath through my mouth after about a half mile. Wish I could go longer but it is what it is.
Considering I used to gasp for air before I hit one block, I'd say it is an improvement.

Just take in the air, it doesn't matter how it gets to your lungs, and most people when running hard can not possibly take in enough air if they are only inhaling through their noses.
Use your nose and mouth, take deep, full breaths, don't gasp or pant.
It is best to exhale completely so you can take a full breath or exchange more air.
Don't time breaths, don't count steps and take so many steps per breath, just take in the air necessary for the speed you are running.
Humans are nose and mouth breathers, and lots of people have allergies or their nose is not large enough to take in much air.

The stitch in your side could be a cramp. If it gets worse the more you run it could be lack of energy. You may want to try to eat something that will give you lots of energy before run to prevent the cramp. I think the general standard for breathing while running is inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Bringing water may help lessen the discomfort of having a dry mouth/throat as well.

It's healthier to breathe through your nose when resting as opposed to your mouth. This is because your nose hairs trap dust particles and other pathogens in the air that you breathe and prevent them from entering your body. However, when exercising or running it is much healthier to breathe through your mouth. When running, your body's cells demand much larger amounts of oxygen than when you are at rest. Breathing through your mouth as opposed to your nose allows your body to intake large quantities of oxygen and in turn get rid of equally large amounts of carbon dioxide as waste. While you may end up breathing in dust and pathogens when exercising, this is a much lower priority than taking in proper amounts of oxygen to meet the needs of your cells.

For me, the best is inhale through your nose and exhale through you mouth, inhaling through your nose will make your abdomen rises and that's what abs purpose. But you can also do both. as long as where you are more comfortable.
