Easy question. All I want to do is paste an url into my documents or whatever folder. If I copy the url from..?

from the address bar and go to my documents, right click, and the paste is not available. This is easy stuff but it totally eludes me.

Most of these are correct. I'll try to simplify what's happening.

You are trying to paste text into a folder, which is not allowed, only files can be in a folder. You need to put the URL into some sort of document first (notepad, wordpad, etc.) for reference to copy and paste into your browser later. Or just make it a clickable link from the desktop as Bill said and wrote directions for.

If I understood it correctly, you are trying to paste a URL into a folder(which is not possible that's why the paste function is not available). What you need to do is:

    1. Open a text editor, "Notepad" for instance

    2. Copy the URL from the address bar (Ctrl + C)

    3. Paste the copied URL (Ctrl + V)

    4. Save the file (Ctrl + S) into whatever folder you want it to.

    Hope that solves your problem.

    Copy the url using CTRL+C.

and paste it in NOTEPAD using CTRL+V.

Then save file with any name in my documents.

You can see the url in the file.

okay, select the whole line of text in the search window, then use CTRL C (shortcut for copy), open your document putting the cursor where you want it, and use CTRL V (shortcut for paste). That's the easiest way to do it.
