Identigene Paternity Results Release?

The father of my child purchased and used the Identigene Paternity test on our son and included my son's name on the envelope. We both live in NC, he sent the test off on a Monday and CLAIMED to get results on the following Thursday (The test was being sent to Salt Lake City, Utah and said results would be available 3-5 days after arrival). He refused to give me a copy of the test results and claimed our son was not his. Is there anyway if I call the Identigene company that they will give me a copy of the results or at least verify that he sent the samples in? Thanks.

It is not a legal test, so it doesn't matter. If he isn't paying child support, sue him for it. The fact that he isn't showing you a copy of the test results means that he's lying and never actually sent it in. Believe me, if a guy got those results, he'd be in your face with the paperwork. That $30 he paid for the test only covers swabs, ziplock, paperwork and probably pre-paid postage. The actual test hasn't even been paid for and that is over $100.

He would not have had results by Thursday. Unless he paid for overnight delivery, it takes 2-3 days AT LEAST for 1st class mail to get to get to Utah. They promise results in 3-5 business days after receiving the samples.

I work for Identigene, and the answer to this question would depend on the terms and conditions the alleged father signed when he sent in the samples. Our current policy states that if you can prove you are the legal guardian of the child, by a birth certificate and ID, you can get results of the test. The turn around time of results really depends on the DNA itself. Some DNA is easier to extract and analyze, so they are completed faster. Others can take longer.

I recommend calling into our client support team at 888-404-4363 and have them review the case.

I doubt if they would be willing to give you the test results. You can have a court-ordered test done to prove that he is the father, but the bill will probably be on you.
