WoW instance question?

I'm a new WoW player level 32 and I keep reading about instances. My question is what are instances, and how do I find them?

Instances are dungeons in WoW where a group of 5 join together to clear the place. You should see a green "eye" looking button at the bottom of your screen (sort of around the area of where you would log out). That would be the Looking for Dungeon tool. This tool allows you to easily put yourself into a queue for a dungeon around your level. It will randomly place you with four other people to run that dungeon. There are 3 roles in the group. The tank (which grabs all of the mobs and holds them on him), the healer (which, obviously, heals up the group), and the DPS (Damage per second... these consist of the last three players in the group. All they do is deal damage to the mobs).

As you're new, it'd probably be best for you to be DPS. Though I don't know what class or talent tree you've chosen, it's hard to help you figure out what exactly you'd be doing. If you're new to a dungeon, feel free to mention it to your group. Sometimes they can give you tips on how the run is supposed to go.

Also, each dungeon has a certain number of "bosses." These guys drop better than average gear.
