Is it not better to state Scripture rather that assume its meaning?

Thanks to all, believer and non, for answering my question considering the topic of "masturbation". I knew it would get attention. I asked, because it is obvious to some that a few are reading Scripture and then quoting it with pre-dispositions about its meaning. Don't you think it is best to quote what the Bible staes, not quote the meaning you assume? You know what they say about assuming; "it makes an a** of you an me."

    Yes. Though sometimes a further explanation helps clarify the context.
