Is it not better to state Scripture rather that assume its meaning?
Thanks to all, believer and non, for answering my question considering the topic of "masturbation". I knew it would get attention. I asked, because it is obvious to some that a few are reading Scripture and then quoting it with pre-dispositions about its meaning. Don't you think it is best to quote what the Bible staes, not quote the meaning you assume? You know what they say about assuming; "it makes an a** of you an me."
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhere in the Bible, specifically, does it say the act of "masturbation" is a sin?
I am a Christian and I have seen others tell someone masturbation is a sin. I have read 90 percent of the Bible, many times over, except Revelation. The thoughts during, maybe lustful. But where do you find the Scripture that physically states, masturbation is a sin? Do not use Genesis 38:9 which has to do with disobedience to God, not the act.

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do we get our daughter from being so negative about life?
Me and my wife were married 1-1/2 years ago. With our new marriage, I became a stepfather to her 6 year old daughter. Her and my wife had been together for most all 6 years before I came along. Now, everything is negative to her. She is never satisfied with anything. We have a son and I know there are some issues there. Now she is clingy. She can barely be out of the same room as my wife. It is getting so that we are thinking of getting her counsceling. If you wonder about her real father, he is of course a deadbeat dad, and now she doesn't want anything to do with him. What can we do? She is too young to be so unhappy.
