How soon can I dye my hair again?

I have medium blonde, coarse hair that hasn't been died in a long time. I used to go dark red, many many years ago, and I remember having it redone numerous times before the color really stayed. That was professionally. I just died my hair out of a box (4 days ago) with Nice N' Easy, a medium auburn. The color is darker that expected but I like it. The problem is that it is fading out already, toward a copper shade. I am sure it will need a couple of treatments to get it to "stick" again, but I don't know how long I need to wait in between with a boxed dye that contains ammonia.

I don't recommend box colors for that one reason that they are very harsh on your hair.

However, I suggest leaving it on 10-15 minutes longer than recommended. This will make sure that the color has enough time to penetrate the hair. It will more than likely keep processing and come out darker than you originally wanted though. Just a heads up!

Or, you can go to a salon and have professional color applied and if that fades, it should be a free fix.

Make sure you're using a color safe shampoo and conditioner, and cool water when you're washing and rinsing the hair. It will help keep the cuticle of your hair closed and retain your color better.

what i do is go to a beauty store like sally beauty or something, it's not super professional, but it's "safer" than box color. it doesn't have ammonia.

dying it like that stay longer.

also, the longer you wait to wash your hair when you first dye it, the better.

for example, if you dyed your hair on a sunday try to wait till wednesday to wash it for the first time.

use colder water to wash your hair with, and it's better if you have "soft" water, water with fewer minerals in it.

and again, try not to wash it as much.
