To all of you who are not american, what do you think of the american accent?
In american we all think that english, scottish, australian, irish, and other english speaking accents sound really cool. However I, including most other Americans I know, have always found our accents to be dull. What do you think? Just curious.

I'm from NZ, and because we've lived overseas since I was five, my little brother speaks with an american accent. American accents are.... well they're not dull as such. But they're.... not quite boring. But kind of. It's hard to explain :D Heaps of people seem to have American accents, and they're not really anything special. They kind of drone, if you know what I mean. The "r"s are so harsh, compared to the "r"s in a kiwi accent, and as to the whole "toMAYEto" "toMAHto" thing, IT'S "TOMAHTO"!!!! American accents are really quite strong, and weird, and are taking over the world unfortunately. Other ones, like the british, ausie and kiwi ones are so much more interesting and fun to listen to.
In short, I don't really like it.

Well,I'm Irish. I think the languages are pretty cool. They are different then Americans' speaking. But it sounds a little weird. Yes they are dull. It's just how the people were born. Though I'm Irish I DON'T have an accent.

Which America? There are three!
1 speaks English (North)
1 speaks Spanish (Central)
1 speaks Spanish in half the country and Portuguese in the other half.
Doesn't matter one way or the other to me; we all speak the same language, just sounds different in different countries, and different parts of each country. No big deal. I speak North American English and Brasilian Portuguese, and know some Spanish from knowing Portuguese, so that covers all three Americas! :-D
