Can anybody tell me how to make a raccoon cake?
Ok, I am getting married next March, and for the groom's cake, I really want to do a raccoon cake or a coon hunting themed cake. I live in Athens, Georgia so if anybody happens to know of anybody in this area that can make one, I would really appreciate it. If not, any tips or suggestions on how to do it would be appreciated!
This is something like what I hope to have:

If any of you have seen Steel Magnolias, there is a groom's cake in that movie that is an armadillo made of red velvet cake so it "bleeds" when you cut it. Being a southerner and my fiance loving to coon hunt I just thought this idea was too cute!
I know...it is hilarious! And I know it is a joke about the bleeding. I just thought it would fit right in w/ my fiance's hunting...

I think the bleeding was a joke, but it was a true red velvet cake (tons of red paste coloring and white vinegar in chocolate cake) with grey icing (quote: "I can't even imagine how you go about making grey icing?"). Remember when Shirley McClaine chops off the butt and serves it to Sally Fields's husband? I choke laughing over that, every time!

Raccoons are nocturnal. They like to wash their food. They are un-afraid of you if you corner them-they will stand up 1st. They like pet food. They generally carry rabies and some nasty parasites. They poo wherever they want to. They are very aggressive during breading and with young (stay away -mom hides) and if you see them in the day time walking around they probably do have rabies. They also prefer to sleep in trees or in your roof. We had some pull a roof vent off attempting forcible entry. You may ask the Humane Society or Fish and Game if they are a problem, but they will probably only supply a live trap to you. Just don't feed your pets outside, they develope a dependency on you, esp. in the winter.
