Why are some on the Right still pretending there's such a thing as their imagined "War on Christmas"?

I mean, it's long since been established that there is no such thing. The notion originated with anti-Semites and white nationalists, and has spread to right-wingers who whine endlessly that they're being picked on if anyone has the temerity to point out that theirs is not the only point of view in the world. Why are they clinging in such squealing frenzy to this long-discredited myth?

Update:

I note that responders have made unsubstantiated allegations, but have offered no cites or solid references. "I SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN it" is not evidence.

There is no "War on Christmas". Why do people want to pretend there is?

Where I live, the town will not put out Christmas decorations, not even nonreligious ones. They will not allow Nativity scenes. The schools will have students sing Hanukkah songs but not allow even the slightest Christmas tune. It is not the Jewish who are against Christmas here, but a bunch of far left hippies who hate the Judeo-Christian world. They will concede with Hannkkah just to fight Christmas, not because they are interested in Judaism.

Because the war is still on.

However, Christmas seems to have won in my town, at least for now. People are allowed to say "Merry Christmas" in stores and other public places, and they seem happy about it.

It wasn't too long ago that this was not allowed, and even school children didn't know whether or not they should mention Christmas at school.

I don't know. Why don't you stop asking strangers and do your own homework?
