17 year old and 13 year old dating?

It's a little bit on the iffy side. I mean, it's kinda gross thinking about it like that, knowing that he's probably destined to take advantage of her at their 2 month mark, and that's gonna have her end up pregnant. But on the other side, if the 17 year old is a decent individual and wouldn't do that to her, then it's alright. Many couples are many if not several years apart. It's just weird thinking about it that a 7th soon to be 8th grader or around that age, is dating a sophomore soon to be senior, if not already. If you really care about your friend that you're acting like you do, I would talk to her mom even though it might not be the thing you really want to do. Her mom is supposed to be there for her, and if she's not, then talk some sense into your friend, and tell her that you really care about her, and you know she has a rough past-life, and her mom got pregnant with her in high school, but you're concerned that she's going down that path, and you don't want her to. Just keep reminding her how much you care about her, and you want what's best for her, and that dating this 17 year old probably isn't the best.

There is only 1 reason this 17 yo is hanging with a 13 yo being a young male it was not too long ago I was 17. I'm just gonna say what everyone else is thinking; he is horny and he wants sex, simple as that. All you can do it tell you friend you care about here alot and don't want this to happen to her. At the same time that is all you can do, if she makes the wrong choice now at least you tried. As others have pointed out since he is not 18 there is little you or anyone can do.

Age is awkward in teen years, but when they're adults, it won't matter. Are they just "dating" or do they really like each other? I don't think it matters that much if they are in love but ther are limits. Age difference isn't a huge deal though unless you're young. My mom and my bro's dad are 4 years apart and have been together for years. Just don't let anything get illeagal

Yes it is. That 17 year old can't get girls his ages so he goes for the younger ones.

There must be something wrong with him that he can't get a girl his own age. All you can do is be there for your friend and hope he turns 18 so you can turn him in for statutory rape.

Check your state or provicial laws that might be considered statutory rape! Perhaps you need to talk to her 1st though ... but if u do report it I would ask that they leave your name out of it... but that you're concerned for her welfare! Chances are childrens services have been involved with this family already.
