Where is one part of you off limits, to another part of you?
Leon Walker. Is our laws trying to dissect him? He is the one who read his wife's e-mail. Big deal. When a couple gets married, they are joined - United - together in the Holy bonds of matrimony. They become one. Once that union is consummated, there is nothing off limits. They are indeed ONE! He has every right to read anything and everything that comes into there home. Period! But that's not all! - If a spouse even suspects the other one is slipping around, or being unfaithful, they not only have the RIGHT but the OBLIGATION to protect themselves from HIV or any other STD! I have heard of lots of stupid thing in my years, but this has got them all topped.
If its not OK to read your wife's mail, Then what do we do with the US mail carrier who gives your certified mail to just anyone who will sign for it. You pay about $5 dollars extra to be sure that the person that you addressed the letter to gets it. Your return card comes back with someone else,es hand righting and, or name on it. Why pay for a service you don't get. Sounds like a double Standard here!!! What do you think? and Thanks.
Jasmine A. The questions are the parts with the question mark behind it. Marriage voles doesn't mention any mail at all. Its all common property.
Cowboydo. He though she was cheating. He had a right to know if he was at risk of catching AID,s or something. As it turned out, she was cheating on him with her 2nd X husband. Now he is in trouble because he found out "the wrong way" What a joke the law can be sometimes.

I have to agree with you. To some point. Every spouse has secrets, one or the other. But when a PC is used and they both use it, it's natural that they both have a certain right to what's on that PC. It's another thing as to what his intentions where at the time. Was he thinking she was cheating and he was looking for evidence ? was he just snooping ? she left the PC there with her mail on it and knew he could look into it. This is her fault for leaving it there with no real locking device on it to stop anyone from snooping.
My spouse told the judge that I looked into her drawer without permission and found the box that had the IUD in it. I suspected something after sex when I kept hitting something in her. She said she was a bit swollen but I am not that stupid.
I looked in her drawer where we keep our socks, it was tucked into the back. I am sterile and have been for many years, she isn't. When I approached her on this she wouldn't answer me. I insisted she have it taken out right now. She called the doc and went and had it removed. But she told this to the judge when we finally separated.
The judge said as long as it was in our home together I had every right to look in that drawer. We're in a communal rights State.

What exactly is the question? Marriage vows don't mention anything about email, last I checked.
