Going to New Orleans for a long weekend. Ideas for cheap fun things to do with my 7 & 9 year old boys.?

My husband is going for work and taking us along so he will be busy most of the day one day and I'm looking for something to keep my boys occupied that doesn't cost a lot of money. I've searched websites but nothing is jumping out at me. If you live in that area or have traveled with kids there please send any suggestions and/or websites. I'm wanting to hear from people that have actually went there, not just look something up online and cut and paste the website (I can do that myself).

My husband and I went there 10 years ago and had a great time so we've been before, just this time it's different with kids.

Thanks for any help!!

Update:

It will be in a few weeks...after New Years is over!

take them on airboat swamp tour in the Atchafalaya Basin might be to cold for gators but it is fun!!!!!!! The zoo and aquarium are also fun! Carriage ride and they can go into preservation hall because they don't not serve alcohol. Another good one is mardi gras world hey can find beads and doubloons left over and take them home. Eat king cake! The Audubon Insectarium is aldo interesting. If they into history take them to the DDAY museum. You can also take them on a river boat ride but don't eat their food it is awful. i think that enjoying any video games, or regardless of his pursuits are, is the terrific. Do what he likes to do, and probably take excitement in doing so your self. cost the time you're spending with him, and be attentive to that he will in elementary terms be 4 years old as quickly as in an entire life. =D have relaxing! Taking him to a playground, or little ones playhouse could be a marvelous concept, too.
