Is a heat spreader on RAM necessary?
Is a heat spreader necessary on DDR3 1333 RAM? I will not be overclocking. I am getting 4Gb of RAM. I won't be maxing anything out on my computer. My computer case has three large fans, one on the back, front, and top. Is the heat spreader okay to go without?

No overclocking? No need!
RAM that need them will come with heat spreader installed. You can buy them to be safe but it's not really the best way to spend money, you could buy a good cpu cooler that will spray so much air around that it will cool the RAM as well...

probably not "necessary", but keeping components cool is always a plus so if you have the money to blow, go for it.
