Grinding Chattering Noise In 1st & 2nd?

I have a 1992 f150 with a 4.9L and a M50D 5spd trans. when I am under heavy load in first and second gear (such as starting off uphill) I hear a low deep chattering grinding noise. I can feel it in the floor. also if i gun it in 3rd gear, it sometimes makes this noise too. My clutch is less than a year old, so i dont think it could be that. or can it? the clutch doesnt seem to slip at all. the truck goes fine when i accelerate.

Update:

I know its a pain describing noises on the internet. I just had it in today at work to plug an exhaust leak. theres no heat shields left around the exhaust. and the noise sounds too heavy to be a heat shield. Ill have to check the motor mounts.

Update 2:

It almost sounds like a crunch noise. if that makes any sense. for only a second though.

I'm guessing driveshaft ujoint problems. climb under and see how much play is in the driveshaft. there should be some rotational but no side to side or back and forth

I'm wondering if you have a busted motor mount and the engine is rolling to one side, or loose heat shield around the exhaust system.

Have you been under the truck to look around for anything obvious?

It's really hard to troubleshoot over the internet without hearing it, or test driving it.
