-- Very low battery usage. A set of Duracell AAs can last for months (advertised battery life is 2 years) (I leave mine on 24/7 and it hasn't needed a battery change in the 2.5 months I've had it).

-- Comes with the ultra small Logitech Unifying Receiver, so you can add a compatible keyboard without having to add a new receiver.

-- Has a range of 15ft - 20ft.

It also comes in the MK550 kit that includes the mouse, the receiver, and the Logitech K350 (programmable) multimedia keyboard. If you look hard enough, you can find the combo kit for sale around $45. It certainly beats buying the KB and mouse separately.
