Purchased stuff from amazon. They don't charge me sales tax. I heard I have to report it as used tax or something.. I live in California. Can you provide some assistance please?

Let's say amazon has no physical presence in my state.

Do I still have to report to my state a sales tax fee of some sort?

My internet modem has 1 ethernet port. So I'm limited to 1 computer on the net. When the time comes, I'm getting a wireless modem. When I do, am i allowed to throw away that modem that came along with my internet package and hook up my desktop to it along with wifi to it? Thanks.

I know that bigger is sometimes better especially performance but..

I sort of like the physical design too.

Laptop 1: Asus Lamborghini VX6

12.1 inch

5-6 hour battery life

nvidia ion ddr3 graphics (512mb) with optimus tech

4 gb ram

cpu: intel atom (i know core i5 is better) obviously dual core

design: looks really really awesome

overall: i know it's not great in performance

really really really REALLY hard to find it in online stores.. only one online store has it

Laptop 2: Dell XPS 15 (released 2 months ago around october)

15 inch

4 gb ram

1 gb nvidia graphics with optimus tech

6-7 hours (9 cell battery)

cpu: core i5 460

design: not as great as the asus vx6

overall: performance w/o the design
