Before I do this, I have to say something. Picking your starter is a difficult choice in this generation. Here is why:

Picking Typlosion gives you a pokemon with good stats... But a terrible move pool (Your gonna end up with 2+ fire moves). However, Fire types are rare if you plan on using one, and a good portion of them lack stats or move pools.

Picking Feraligatr is a good choice. He has good stats and a passable move pool. However, there are so many good water types out there, some that just outright are better then him. He is clearly the best starter, but using him will make you miss out on many great pokemon

Picking Meganium is somewhat the middle ground of the 2. She is bulky with good stats and a decent support option. There are better grasses, but not that many, and she can hold her grounagainstst most of them.

So, here are teams for each of the starters based on what you choose. This is just a suggestion by the way, as there are countless options for teams out there. Location of pokemon are included, as are movesets without TMs (I've met plenty of people who dont like to use TMs).

    --Team 1--

Typlosion (given at start) ~ Eruption, Focus Blast, Double-edge, and Flamethrower

(Without TMs: Eruption, Double-edge, Flamethrower, and one filler move [he really has nothing else])

Poliwrath (Use old rod at route 30 pond) ~ Waterfall, Brick Break, *Body Slam/Ice Punch (battle frontier move tutor), and *Hypnosis/Rock Slide (battle frontier move tutor).

(Without TMs: Body Slam, Waterfall (HM), Hypnosis, and Wake-up Slap)

*Nidoking (Route 35 grass) ~ Earthquake, Stone Edge, Megahorn, and Poison Jab.

(Without TMs: Poison Jab, Earth Power, Mega horn, and Strength (HM)

*Exeggutor (Have a pokemon headbutt a couple trees in cherrygrove city) ~ Sleep powder, Psychic, Energy Ball/Grass knot, and Explosion

(Without TMs: Psychic, Leaf storm, Sleep Powder, and Leech Seed/Stun Spore)

*Jolteon (Bill in Goldenrod city) ~ Thunderbolt, Shadow ball, Charge Beam, and Protect/Subsititute

(Without TMs: Discharge/Thunder, Quick attack, Double Kick, and Bite)

Skarmory (Route 45) ~ Swords Dance, Night Slash, Steel Wing, and Roost

(Without TMs: Steel wing, Air Slash, Night Slash, and Slash)

    --Team 2--

Feraligatr (given at start) ~ Swords Dance, Water Fall, *Ice Fang/Ice Punch (move tutor at battle frontier), Crunch

(Without TMs: Aqua Tail/Waterfall (HM), Crunch, Ice Fang, Superpower)

**Yanmega (Route 35) ~ Bug Buzz, Air Slash, Shadow Ball, and U-Turn.

(Without TMs: Bug Buzz, Air Slash, Ancientpower, and U-Turn)

Dugtrio (Route 48) ~ Earthquake, Stone Edge, Sucker Punch, and Substitute

(Without TMs: Earthquake, Sucker Punch, Fissure, and one filler move)

**Hitmonlee (Karate King at Mt. Motar) ~ Close Combat, Stone Edge, Blaze Kick, and Earthquake/Sucker Punch (Battle frontier move tutor)

(Without TMs: Close Combat, Blaze Kick, Mega Kick, and Reversal)

Hypno (Route 34) ~ Psychic, Nasty Plot, Grass Knot, and Shadow Ball

(Without TMs: Nasty Plot, Psychic, Headbutt, and Swagger)

Weezing (Burnt Tower) ~ Will-o-Wisp, Explosion, and Sludge bomb/Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball

(Without TMs: Sludge Bomb, Explosion, Double Hit, and Poison Gas)

    --Team 3--

Meganium (given at start) ~ Energy Ball, Body Slam, Synthesis, and Toxic

(Without TMs: Body Slam, Magic Leaf/Petal Dance, Poisonpowder, and Synthesis)

Heracross (Headbutt a couple trees in Azelea town) ~ Close Combat, Megahorn, Stone Edge, and Shadow Claw

(Without TMs: Close Combat, Megahorn, Arieal Ace, and Counter)

Quagsire (Route 32 at night) ~ Earthquake, Waterfall, Stone Edge, and *Toxic/Ice Punch (Battle frontier move tutor)

(Without TMs: Earthquake, Waterfall (HM), Slam, and Yawn)

Ampharados (Route 32) ~ Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Power Gem, and Signal Beam.

(Without TMs: Discharge/Thunder, Powergem, Signal Beam, and Light Screen)

**Espeon (Bill at Goldenrod city) ~ Psychic, Clam Mind, Grass knot, Shadow Ball

(Without TMs: Psychic, Morning Sun, Bite, and Swift)

Crobat (Pratically any cave) ~ Arieal Ace, X-Scissor, Sludge Bomb/Cross Poison (Heart Scale), and Dark Pulse

(Without TMs: Poison Fang/Cross Poison (Heart Scale), Air Slash/Wing Attack, Confuse Ray, and Mean Look)

I cannot explain the * in depth because my answer is too long. But * means stone evolution and ** means wierd evoltution. You have to evolve some of these at specific times, however, which you will have to look up on Serebii or something.

    Eruption

    Shadow Claw

    Blast Burn

    Quagsire

    Item:NeverMeltIce

    Moveset:

    Muddy Water

    Ice Beam

    Earthquake

    Sludge Bomb

    Dragonite

    Item: Dragon Fang

    Moveset:

    Thunder

    Dragon Rush

Extreme Speed- If you can get it from the elder in the Dragon's Den.

    Aqua Tail

    Hypno

    Item: Up to you!

    Moveset:

    Nasty Plot

    Psychic

    Dark Pulse

    Shadow Ball

    Machamp (If you can trade)

    Item: Black Belt

    Moveset:

    Flamethrower

    Cross Chop

    Rock Slide

    Brick Break

Hope I helped. The Machamp is just as strong if it's only a Machoke. Have fun playing! Peace out!
