14 month old & nap time & bed time..HELP!!?
My 14 month old daughter does not want to take a nap during the day. She fights it & fights it; when she does give in, she sleeps maybe an hour if I'm lucky.
& when it comes to bedtime, I am fighting with her for an hour & more everynight trying to get her to go to sleep. She will not stay in her crib, she won't stay in a toddler bed, & if I hold her she'll stay awake all night long. She is rubbing her eyes and yawning the whole time I try to get her to fall asleep. I am at my wits end with her. My 2 year old was nothing like this. In fact, complete opposite. He would fall asleep as soon as I laid him down & never fought me.
Any tips or idea's on how to get my daughter to take naps & go to sleep better?

Make her stop taking naps. Then by the end of the day she'll be too tuckered out to fight/not sleep.

Do you have a consistent bedtime and routine? Does she get up early enough in the mornings, 6 am, 7 am? What time is her nap, 12 pm, 1pm? Is she getting enough playtime throughout the day to make her tired?
The only thing I can suggest is consistency. My two kids fought sleep too, my first not nearly as bad as my 2nd. She fought like you described and more, getting out of bed. We've been at it now for a year with her and she's finally gotten into the routine of going to bed. Occasionally she'll sing or talk, but she's lying down.
Before starting daycare this year (she's 3) naps were out of the question. At daycare every day 12 pm she naps until 2 pm. Seeing the other kids napping helps. Plus, the room is dark and quiet. Make sure of that when you're putting her down for a nap.

Make sure to keep a routine! We lay down with our son and when he is asleep we put him in his bed. Most of the time he will stay there all night.

My LO had problems settling to sleep as well until a friend told me about this and it has saved me or the stress. You may want to try it. I hope it helps you too.
