I think a lot of smart rappers dumb it down a little so people can better understand them and relate.
But here's my list of dudes that I've either known to have been smart, or who have really surprised me with lyrics or interviews:

One notable person I left off the list is KRS One. He seems smart in the way he talks (he has an authoritative way of talking), but a lot of stuff he says is pretty damn stupid. I used to think he was like the smartest until I got older and became more critical.
