Joint supplements for dogs?

Has anyone tried any joint supplements on their dogs with arthritis that they had good results with? I would appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks

I've given something to a few of my dogs called Nupro and felt it helped. It comes in 1, 5 and 20 pound buckets in a powder form you can sprinkle over food or mix with water to form a gravy. It has a fairly strong meaty smell to it so I've never had a dog refuse it. I first found it in an independent dog food store but it's easily found online as well. I get mine now either through Amazon or Ebay at some reasonable prices. They've got different supplement formulas including a senior mix for joint issues.

Well they only work for the beginning stages of arthritis. So once the arthritis gets worse your vet will need to prescribe something stronger. I think I used something by Hartz that was sold at wal mart, ask your vet, different states have different rules. When I lived in one state, my sister had to buy the supplements and mail them to me because it was illegal to sell them in 7 states.

Copy and paste the web page below. The supplement is called Joint Strong and is specific to your concern. Its human grade, and highly effective for joiont pain in dogs. Sprinkle over food at normal feedings. It will take a bout a week before you see a difference.

We've been very happy with Glyco-Flex III. http://www.vetriscience.com/glyco-flex-III.php

I'd ask your vet what dose he feels is appropriate. Vets often have a different recommendation than the package label.

For a free sample go to http://oliversupplements.com/dog_supplements

I used up the free sample and ordered some more; My 14 year old Dachshund seemed to have more pep and get up and go after using this. Before, she just laid in her bed most of the day.
