Cleaning out a new bird cage?
Hi,
we have two cockatiels and we are moving them to a bigger cage. Do I need to "disinfect it" or should I just leave it.?
If so, how?
It is made of wire and they definately can't get through..
Thank you very much!

If you're in an area that has enough sun, you can use a light mixture of bleach and water and vinegar to rinse and set it in the sun for a couple of hours. That's a good way to disinfect lots of stuff that has to do with your bird....not wood of course.

Yes, definitely disinfect it, just in case. Make sure you use a safe one, and let it dry in the sun after you rinse it off. Good luck with your birds!

Yes, disinfect it. Be sure to use a disinfectant that is not harmful to the birds. Let it sit until the cage in completely dried, then move your cockatiels in.

Use one of those disinfectants that are safe for animals/birds not the one that goes cloudy in the water.

Des infect it so that it doesn't have as many germs as it might have and make sure after des infecting to dry it up really well and then do what you normally do.
